BioI'm Elyse, also known as Elyse3, EJ, 'that overachieving Asian kid', or a variety of other nicknames.
There is nothing much of interest to put here. Like most people on lj, I enjoy reading and writing and my fandoms (in which I have almost cyclical bouts of frenzied obsession) though that's mostly petered out to academic geekery about Victor Hugo, the Romantic poets, Voltaire, and the Enlightenment. I am a follower of Voltaire, admirer of literature and believer of Kierkegaardian Christianity whose overarching passions are the Enlightenment and French Revolution.
I think my one claim to fame may be that I'm the only William Pitt the Younger fangirl that exists.
My journal is mostly a way for me to work out ideas or to vent excess emotion, but I do post pretty frequently about books I've read and liked, books I've liked and hated and historical tidbits I find fascinating.
